Why Should You Have Backup-Power?

Although many of us experience power-outages that last no longer than a few minutes to a few hours, sometimes these power-outages can last for days, weeks, or even longer! We think that having a backup-power source is essential for survival and staying more self-reliant.

Power outages that last any significant period of time can cause a whole slue of problems, so here are a few of the major reasons we think you should have backup-power of your own;

Keeping just a few lights on not only helps you see, it helps you both feel safe and stay safe. Power outages can be an attractant for crime and home invasions, so having a light on might just be the difference between a robbery and a peaceful night.

Having backup-power can prevent you from losing tons of money in food spoilage by keeping your refrigerator and/or freezer running.

Backup power can keep essential medical equipment running, such as oxygen machines. Some medications also need to be stored in a refrigerator, which can be kept running.

Depending on your situation, many plumbing and heating systems require electricity to run, even if it is not the primary source of fuel.

So, we say, don't get caught with your pants down next time the power goes out!
